We have an immediate opening for a Trade & Marketing Coordinator to join the dedicated Tourism & Events Queensland team (TEQ). TEQ is responsible for promoting Queensland's experiences, events and destinations.
 
The Trade and Marketing Coordinator works with the Director, Americas to implement programs and marketing activity with trade, aviation and commercial partners across the US and Canada.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
The key focus of the role is to raise awareness of Queensland’s destinations and experiences with the travel trade and provide support on consumer campaigns to grow international visitation to Queensland in line with TEQ’s annual strategic plan.The Trade and Marketing Coordinator will lead travel trade communication, training, event participation and support the delivery of trade and consumer direct campaigns within the guidelines of the Queensland brand. 
  • Developing and delivering educational and entertaining product presentations on Queensland to Americas travel trade
  • Organizing and managing content submissions for trade and consumer campaigns including copy and imagery
  • Leading trade email communications, developing themes and content inclusions for bi-monthly correspondence, dispatched via Adobe
  • Responding to queries and providing recommendations for travel trade and consumers planning Queensland itineraries
  • Assisting in the planning and delivery of TEQ led sales missions, familiarization trips, trade training seminars, workshops, and events in the Americas and where relevant, support the Queensland tourism industry attendance 
  • Collaboration with STO (State Tourism Office) and Tourism Australia colleagues for joint ventures and shared opportunities
  • Assisting in compilation of reports and tracking of annual KPIs
  • Representing TEQ at meetings, social functions, and networking events
  • Hosting trade representatives in Queensland on familiarizations
  • Ensuring all tasks undertaken adhere to TEQ policies, procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Tourism, or equivalent professional experience in a similar role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for growing in-depth knowledge of Queensland tourism industry and product
  • Outstanding ability in compiling and confidently delivering dynamic and entertaining live presentations and public speaking
  • Ability to engage and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong administration and organizational skills including use of a wide variety of systems and platforms
  • Confidence in leading travel groups
  • Experience working with key travel trade distribution partners in the Americas - Preferred
  • Past travel experience to Queensland, Australia - Preferred
  • One year of prior internship or job-related experience in marketing or communications or tourism - Preferred
Salary Range for this position: $48 - $52k USD
