The Richmond Region Tourism Foundation is looking to hire an intern to support its BLK RVA program. The ideal candidate must be outgoing and reliable and possess exceptional written and oral communication skills. The candidate must also be familiar with the Richmond Region and have access to reliable transportation and internet access.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Learn all aspects of the Richmond Region Tourism Foundation and its BLK RVA Program https://www.visitblkrva.com/
- Attend a Richmond Region Tourism I Am Tourism Ambassador (IAT) Class https://www.iatrva.com
- Attend all BLK RVA Advisory Committee and Subcommittee Meetings
- Attend internal marketing content planning meetings
- Set up weekly calls or in-person visits with locally Black-owned businesses throughout seven jurisdictions (City of Richmond, City of Colonial Heights, Town of Ashland, Counties of Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and New Kent County)
- Distribute stickers, postcards, and other marketing and resource materials to Black-owned businesses throughout the seven jurisdictions mentioned above via mail and in-person
- Represent the BLK RVA brand at community and virtual meetings and events
- Promote BLK RVA through word-of-mouth and other marketing techniques
- Coordinate with local BLK RVA businesses and RRT’s Senior Content Marketing Manager to assist with website and social media marketing including gathering photo and video content for social media use, brainstorming and editing content, and making updates to the Visit BLK RVA website.
- Attend BLK RVA sponsored events and transport BLK RVA promotional materials to and from events, as well as set up tent booth at various event
- Experience with creating, shooting, and editing vertical video content is highly recommended
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation (DMV motor vehicle and background check will be performed)
- Must be able to utilize your own computer/laptop (not tablet). Office365 and RRT email address will be provided for use
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds unassisted
- Summer 2025 (anytime between June-August) Internship, up to 30 hours per week at $15 per hour. This internship is funded by a Grant.
