Our core UnTour travel product operates in 31 regions throughout 15 countries. The UnTours helps individuals and groups travel slowly, sustainably, immersed in local cultures, and independently. UnTour packages include apartment or home-based lodging, transport, pre-trip planning support, airport pickup, and dedicated on-the-ground advice and engagement from locally-based UnGuides. We also offer special group UnTours with themes such as Wine and Food and Christmas Markets, as well as a selection of small-boat cruises.

The Director of Marketing at UnTours will be tasked with spearheading all marketing strategies of the company. It is a vitally important role in the ongoing turnaround of this historic and high-impact travel brand. This position will also have influence in the day-to-day operations and product development of UnTours, and could move into a leadership position over time. Key Responsibilities and Activities

  • Lead all marketing activities - focused on driving brand awareness against target audience, and maximizing traffic and leads for all distribution channels to achieve year-over-year growth.
  • Successfully share the impact and mission of UnTours - as the world’s first-ever Certified B Corporation and being 100% owned by the UnTours Foundation.
  • Drive media strategy, planning, execution, testing, and optimization, integrating across offline, online, and social media channels.
  • Budget, manage, and optimize media spend and mix across all marketing channels.
  • Ensure consistency and effectiveness in brand messaging, voice, and visuals across all channels and campaigns.
  • Measure, monitor, and report on all marketing effectiveness KPIs, drawing insights to drive continuous performance improvement.
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure the travel offerings align with customer demand.
  • Ensure that marketing data can be captured, reported, and used to drive decision-making.
  • Oversee integration of CRM (Zoho) into all marketing and sales activities.
  • Ensure that the sales team has the information and materials necessary to effectively and efficiently convert leads.

 

Desired Skills and Experiences

  • 5+ years working in a marketing function in the travel industry, including success working with Zoho, Hubspot, Salesforce, or a similar tool.
  • Understanding and experience in the overall management of a travel company.
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Growth mindset - willing to learn on the job, take on new tasks as the company evolves, and exhibit a dogged determination to do everything possible for UnTours to grow in both size and positive impact.

 

Other Details

  • This is a fully remote position, with opportunities to travel to UnTours destinations, industry events, and in-person team meetups. 
  • The compensation package includes 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and 50% coverage for family members, participation in a 401k plan, and four weeks of paid vacation.

 

Salary range: $70,000-$80,000, with additional bonus opportunities.
