Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Associate to join our growing Tourism & Destination Development division. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the work we do in support of our clients with a focus on the areas of strategic planning, feasibility analysis, and financial modeling.

JLL's Tourism and Destination Development Division:

Our growing global team of consultants works collaboratively closely with clients in the public and private sector to support destination development, tourism strategic and master planning and create a viable path forward for a myriad of diverse and interesting projects. Our team has developed global tools to model and forecast industry needs and potential outcomes. We also work with global institutions and represent clients making investments in the tourism and hospitality sector that will have lasting impacts. Our work is industry leading and constantly pushing boundaries of where our industry could go. 

This position will be a critical one to add capacity and be part of this team working globally to advise clients in the tourism space with a focus on destination and asset development to see a brighter way.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead Market Research & Feasibility Studies:
    • Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify tourism market trends, competitive landscapes, and demand drivers.
    • Develop comprehensive feasibility studies, including market demand forecasts, revenue projections, pro-formas, cost estimations, and financial performance assessments.
    • Conduct and oversee market research and analysis, including benchmarking, asset research, trend identification, and best practice analysis.
    • Assess the competitive environment, including existing tourism offerings, attractions, and competitive advantages.
  • Financial Modeling & Analysis:
    • Support the development of sophisticated financial models for tourism development projects, including revenue and expense projections, cash flow analysis, and return on investment (ROI) calculations. Develop IRR calculations to qualify projects for private and public investment
    • Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess project risks and uncertainties.
    • Prepare financial reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
    • Participate in researching and developing public private financing strategies
  • Develop Strategic Tourism Development Plans:
    • Support the development of comprehensive tourism development plans, including market segmentation, product development strategies, and visitor experience enhancement initiatives.
    • Conduct stakeholder engagement and consultation processes, including workshops, interviews, and surveys.
    • Assist in the identification and analysis of funding sources for tourism development projects.
  • Client Management & Business Development:
    • Manage client relationships effectively, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the tourism and hospitality sector.
    • Prepare high-quality proposals, presentations, and reports for existing and prospective clients.
    • Support, and where appropriate, lead, the creation and improvement of business development materials such as qualifications statements, case studies, client testimonials, and staff biographies.
    • Direct client interaction and project management, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
    • Develop and co-lead client presentations, effectively communicating project findings and recommendations.
    • Manage client and stakeholder communication, including scheduling meetings and coordinating team efforts.
    • Become well versed in the One JLL initiative  and the potential roles of key JLL participants 
  • Stay Ahead of Industry Trends:
    • Continuously monitor and analyze industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the tourism sector through JLL and other third-party resources
    • Conduct research and stay informed on relevant policy and regulatory changes.
    • Share knowledge and insights with colleagues through presentations, workshops, and internal communications.
    • Support and conduct primary research in collaboration with the global team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 5 years of combines experience in development (preferably in tourism and hospitality), research, financial modeling, consulting, or a related field
  • Exceptional proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and financial modeling, including pro forma development and feasibility studies.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting in-depth research and market studies.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing feasibility and asset development studies.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Public-Private Partnerships (P3s).
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS).
  • Experience in a consulting environment.
  • Experience working with JLL's tourism and hospitality clients is a plus

Estimated total compensation for this position:

95,000.00 – 105,000.00 USD per year
