POSITION SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager position at Visit Virginia's Blue Ridge involves supporting the development and execution of marketing and communication programs while creating and updating collateral materials. This role requires a background in graphic design, marketing, or a related field, along with strong skills in content design, verbal and written communication, and customer service. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments and external agencies, manage website content, and oversee promotional items, ensuring brand consistency across all communications and materials.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES

Primary responsibilities include assisting with ad campaigns, designing promotional materials, and managing the production of collateral such as the Visitor’s Guide and Regional Map, presentations, profile sheets, and advertisements. The Marketing Manager will also coordinate web updates, oversee the Consumer E-Newsletter program, and engage with partners and stakeholders to enhance marketing initiatives. Additionally, the role involves evaluating website analytics for growth opportunities and assisting in the development of marketing campaigns for sales and sports initiatives. By leveraging resources effectively, the Marketing Manager aims to maximize the impact of the organization’s marketing efforts.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field is preferred. One year of work experience may substitute for one year of the required education up to a maximum of four years substitution. Where substitution is accepted, applicant must show increased knowledge-base and experience in progressively more challenging work assignments.
