Position Summary: AIANTA is excited to announce an outstanding career opportunity for the position of Tribal Content Developer. As the Tribal Content Developer, you will play a key role in creating written and visual content with a consistent voice on Indigenous Tourism for NativeAmerica.travel, AIANTA publications and other promotions.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tribal Content Developer to join our team and contribute to the success of our mission. AIANTA works with Native Nations and communities, including Tribal Nations, Rancherias, Pueblos, Native Alaskan villages and Native Hawaiian partnership organizations to ensure that cultural and recreational tourism perpetuates culture, builds economic opportunities, creates sustainable land use practices creating more resilient landscapes to improve lives and provide broader access to cultural practices, food practices and recreation opportunities. By focusing on cultural tourism and recreational opportunities, Native Nations and communities can thrive alongside the lands and landscapes they steward and protect.

 

Job DescriptionThe Tribal Content Developer’s responsibilities include adding content to NativeAmerica.travel and creating blogs and articles about tribal tourism for promotion in AIANTA publications and social media. The Tribal Content Developer will work closely with the Tribal Outreach Team to research and interview tribal contacts and Native-owned businesses to gather information about tourism attractions. The Tribal Content Developer will write, edit and publish Indigenous Tourism content, including tribal profiles, listings for attractions and itineraries on NativeAmerica.travel, blog posts, social media posts, articles, news releases and other content as needed.

 

QualificationsThe ideal candidate for this position holds an associate degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Writing or a closely related field, coupled with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in project/program management. The candidate should demonstrate a strong background in and exhibit proficiency in Microsoft products and graphics programs. Photography and video skills are necessary. Flexibility in schedule to accommodate training and travel, and effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are essential. The candidate should have a basic understanding and respect for tribal customs, traditions, values and beliefs, along with a strong work ethic, initiative, organizational skills and attention to detail.
