The Digital Media Manager is responsible for Visit Macon’s online content and presence, including social media, websites, and email marketing. The manager aids in developing, maintaining and/or implementing programs, projects and activities, that fully showcase Macon’s brand online through increased audience/market attention and conversion. They work to grow the Visit Macon digital presence including engaging and retaining website conversions, identifying ROI, and converting potential visitors into hotel room nights.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the complete and accurate online presence for Visit Macon
  • Coordinates and implements creating and editing content on the website
  • Works with website vendor to keep up with the latest web-based technologies and social trends to ensure Visit Macon remains competitive in the marketplace
  • Assists and provides oversight to the organization’s social media profiles (including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, TikTok and potentially additional channels) and aims to integrate and repurpose the channels and content online
  • Assists in the development of a content calendar and strategy to reach target audiences
  • Responsible for implementing & reporting on blog & page content to expand awareness of Macon
  • Explores new ways to engage our social networks to reach our target audience.
  • Collaborates with influencers and industry experts to produce relevant content.
  • Maintains all contact databases and distribution listings and executes the sending of all Visit Macon e-newsletters.
  • Collaborates with department heads to secure advertising, collateral and creative materials, and website and mobile site enhancements, which support the sales and marketing efforts. Negotiates advertising rates and cooperative advertising buys and implements the media campaigns on behalf of Visit Macon.
  • Oversees and manages paid media budgets and monitors costs & spending. Ensures all ads and creative are displayed appropriately.
  • Implements the assigned programs and projects of the marketing plan, according to the established timelines, goals, standards and expectations of quality, integrity and customer service.
  • Uses research to evaluate Visit Macon marketing activities, establish and monitor marketing goals and budget items, and provide recommendation on periodic revisions to the marketing plan, as needed.
  • Builds and maintain relationships with marketing staff throughout the regional meetings and tourism industry.
  • Maintains the video and photography library.
  • Manages external vendors such as advertising agencies, photographers, video suppliers, and website vendors to complete projects within set deadlines and budgets.
  • Assists the VP of Marketing in oversight of Marketing interns.
  • Maintains accurate project records, statistics, and data on ROI of marketing programs and provides appropriate information for weekly and monthly reports.
  • Maintains a cohesive working relationship with all other personnel to ensure a unified and effective promotional effort; provides marketing support for all Visit Macon initiatives and programs.
  • Maintains a well-informed working knowledge of the attractions and services available in the area to visitors and acts as a liaison between these entities and the visitor.

  • Performs any other appropriate duties as assigned by the President and CEO and/or VP of Marketing.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in marketing, graphic design, multi-media or relevant field.
  • Proven work experience managing digital technology, content creation and social media programs, including analytics.
  • Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, and PPC advertising
  • Proficiency with Meta Business Suite & various ad buying structures across social media & media buying platforms
  • Experience with photography, video production/editing and graphics preferred
  • Portfolio of graphic design
  • Experience with CRM systems (or other database management programs) preferred
